Angry NPP Youth in Upper West Akyem in the Eastern region, today, stormed the New Office Complex of the Upper West Akyem District Assembly (UWADA) to disrupt the commissioning of the facility.
The youth are demanding the removal from office of the DCE, Eugene Sackey for accusing them of being responsible for a non-functional grading machine meant for the assembly.

Besides that, the group says the DCE will leave the NPP with no message going into the 2020 general elections because he has failed as the political leader of the district.
It took the intervention of the Adeiso Police to restore order before the commissioning of the new Assembly complex was carried out.
“To blame us for a machine that became faulty two years ago when the NDC government was in power amounts to tarnishing the image of the NPP,” an angry member of the group fumed.

“He says it the [NPP] youth who have poured salt into the machine’s engine so we have come here so he shows us prove lest the programme will not proceed,” another of the group explained.
When adomonline.com contacted the DCE, Mr Sackey on phone, he confirmed the disruptions at the commissioning but said he has been advised by his party executives not to comment on the details of the matter.
He has, however, denied the allegations levelled against him by the youth, saying “it’s not true; whatever they are saying is not true”.
