Renowned American filmmaker Tyler Perry has reportedly reached a settlement with Ghanaian highlife musician Kofi Nti over the unauthorized use of his song.

Tyler featured Nti’s ‘Odo Nwom’ in a behind-the-scenes video from his popular TV series Sistas.

The song, which features fellow highlife star Ofori Amponsah, gained attention when it was used in the video that circulated widely on social media.

According to Kofi Nti, once he was informed of the usage, his legal representatives in the UK initiated contact with Perry’s team.

After smooth negotiations, an amicable settlement was reached.

Kofi Nti expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the process was respectful and professional.

This development highlights the growing global awareness of Ghanaian music and the importance of artists protecting their intellectual property across borders.
