A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ekow Awusi has questioned the legal capabilities of private legal practitioner and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Abraham Amaliba.
The utterances of Abraham Amaliba, he said, has made him wonder the circumstances under which he became a member of such a prestigious profession.
Lawyer Amaliba has come under intense criticism for saying Ghana will burn if the Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Charlotte Osei, is removed from office.
According to him, the current government is using the system to harass Mrs Osei, a situation he said does not augur well for the stability of the country.
“…What has the woman done? She has declared election results in your favour and so what again do they want from her that they are using the process to harass her?
“Where are the CDDs? Where are the Occupy Ghanas? If it were to be the NDC government all these people would be speaking by now. Where is Emile Short? Where is Professor Martey? This country will burn and we will see where all of us will be and so they should continue doing it,” he said.
Reacting to this comment on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Thiursday, Ekow Awusi said he has often been forced to question the legal capabilities of the member of the one-time member of the NDC Legal Team.
“I have wondered how Amaliba passed Law School and became a Lawyer…is he a Lawyer?”, he quizzed.
Ekow Amoasi who is seeking to become the Central Regional chairman of the NPP also called for investigations into the circumstances under which Amaliba became a Lawyer.
“I think we need to investigate the circumstances under which Amaliba became a Lawyer…,” he demanded.
