Director General of the National Sports Authority, Robert Sarfo Mensah has lauded the government and people of Ghana for honoring the memory of former Vice President, Aliu Mahama with the renaming of the Tamale Sports Stadium after him.
According to the 2017 Asutifi North District best farmer, the late Vice President did enough for the people of the northern region and the country at large to merit this acknowledgement.
He recounted the enormous help he gave to clubs like Real Tamale United (RTU), his input in building the stadium and how he selflessly served in the high office of the Vice President.
“I am happy the president deemed it fit to honor the late Vice President this way because he worked so hard as a civilian and a public servant. Though it can be seen as fulfilling a campaign promise, the late Aliu Mahama served the country diligently and deserves more”, Sarfo Mensah concluded.
