Alidu Seidu extends contract with Stade Rennes

Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has committed his future to Stade Rennes, signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2029.

Seidu, who joined Rennes from Clermont Foot last year, has been a vital part of the squad, making 22 Ligue 1 appearances this season before suffering a ligament injury.

Despite being ruled out for the remainder of the campaign, the club has shown faith in the energetic right-back by offering him a long-term deal.

Rennes’ Executive Chairman and CEO, Arnaud Pouille, expressed his excitement over Seidu’s contract renewal.

“His trademark smile isn’t a facade; Alidu has a genuine, wonderful aura about him. On the field, too, he knows how to assume responsibility,” he said.

“He’s a leader who has made his presence felt since his arrival. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing him back on the field,” he added.

Currently undergoing rehabilitation, Seidu remains determined to recover fully and repay the club’s trust with strong performances once he returns to the field.
