A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Esther Agyeman, has slammed Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, and his supporters for promoting the controversial Agyapadie document.
She revealed that, she first encountered the document in 2015 and became familiar with its contents, which allegedly outlined a strategy to elevate the status of Ofori Panin above that of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, take control of the NPP from the Asantes, and seize key national assets.
In an interview with on AbusuaNkommo, Esther Agyeman said Alan Kyerematen was aware of the document’s contents as far back as 2016, yet chose to remain silent and join the NPP in governance.
She said those currently discussing the Agyapadie document are not members of the opposition NDC but rather the Movement for Change, led by Alan Kyerematen.
Ms. Agyeman questioned Kyerematen’s decision to stay silent, stating, “The book came out in 2016, and Alan Kyerematen saw and heard its contents, yet he continued to campaign with Nana Addo for power in 2016.”
She added that, Mr. Kyerematen, knowing the potential impact on the Asante faction, still joined the government.
Taking a direct shot at Kyerematen, Agyeman said, “If it were me, Afia, who believed the book’s contents were true, I wouldn’t have joined the government for over six years, only to see Asante destroyed.”
She accused Mr. Kyerematen of failing to protect Asante from the so-called ‘Akyem Mafias,’ who, according to her, have a plan to undermine Asante and plunder Ghana.
“If the Agyapadie book is true, then Alan Kyerematen has let Asante down because he knowingly helped them come to power to execute their state capture,” she emphasized.
Ms. Agyeman also questioned Kyerematen’s current stance.
“Now that you’re out of the party, have you realized it is something that will harm Asanteman?” he quizzed.
