Youth of Akyem Juaso in the Eastern Region have threatened clash with some small scale miners who they accuse of mining on their land.
The youth group also say the activities of the miners is destroying their farm crops and water bodies even though there is a ban on small scale mining in the country.
The Youth  who traveled all the way from Akyem Juaso to present a petition to Lands and Natural Resource Minister, John Peter Amewu,  alleged that the small scale miners claimed they are doing the work on behalf of Cubic Gold Fields when they were approached.
The miners, according to them, also claimed that the Lands and Natural Resource Minister, John Peter Amewu was aware of their activities.

Chairman of the tyouth, Kwaku Boateng, told Adom News reporter Kwame Kulenu that the miners have destroyed their cocoa, water bodies and crops.
They have therefore given the miners 48 years to stop work else they will storm the mining site to engage them in a fight.
Kwaku Boateng said the miners came to the area about some four months ago and after they have succeeded in resisting them from operating, they have now used the back door to the site.
They have therefore called on the Minister to intervene within forty-eight hours lest they storm the mining site and fight to claim their lands.
The Asafoaakye of the area, Charles Kantaka also told Adom News that leaders of the town had warned the small scale miners to stop work but they have failed to listen, saying they would not watch unconcerned as the miners continue to destroy their lands.
