The government of Nana Akufo-Addo is ready to welcome more investors into the country, Dr Charles Dwamena has told Chinese investors.
The director of administration in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) addressing a group of Chinese who joined Ghanaians in China, mainly students to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the country said the government has opened its arms and would readily welcome all investors.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the current business-friendly government has made this year a good time to invest in Ghana by initiating steps aimed at promoting and supporting business growth such as tax reliefs, duty free regimes, prudent fiscal management and many other positive developments…,” he said to the gathering at Nigbo in China.
The stable democracy in the country, he added is also a reason why the investors must consider Ghana as a first point of call when it comes to investment.
“As an added advantage, Ghana is one of the safest and most stable democracies in Africa, if not the number one. Be rest assured, therefore, that your investments will be safe and your personal safety assured. Your investments will definitely yield positive results,” he added.
Below is the full speech to the Chinese investors
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, good evening. I’ve come all the way from Accra to join you in celebrating, here in Ningbo, the 60th independence anniversary of the Republic of Ghana.
Ghana and China have been friends for decades and as such the NPP Government, being a pro-business government, is leaving no stone unturned in putting in place prudent measures aimed at encouraging and receiving Chinese investors willing to invest in the Ghanaian economy.
Ladies and gentlemen, the current business-friendly government has made this year a good time to invest in Ghana by initiating steps aimed at promoting and supporting business growth such as tax reliefs, duty free regimes, prudent fiscal management and many other positive developments.
We are seeing all these positive developments because our President is in a hurry to welcome all of you to invest in the various sectors of our economy.
As an added advantage, Ghana is one of the safest and most stable democracies in Africa, if not the number one. Be rest assured, therefore, that your investments will be safe and your personal safety assured. Your investments will definitely yield positive results.
Finally, ladies and gentlemen, let me use this occasion to remind you all that the good relationship between the people of Ghana and China did not start today but rather from the Days of President Mao Zi Dong of China and President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and as such we have something strong to be proud of.
It is therefore the hope of the Government of Ghana that this good friendship will transform into full economic cooperation with benefits for all.
On behalf of the President and the New Patriotic Party, I welcome you all to invest in the Ghanaian economy.
Thank you.
