Akufo-Addo now a 'clearing agent' for corrupt officers – Sammy Gyamfi

A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has described the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as a ‘clearing agent’.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Friday, Sammy Gyamfi said the President has now ‘speacialised in clearing corrupt officers in his administration’.
These corrupt officers, Sammy Gyamfi said, include the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), Alfred Obeng.
He defied calls by the host of the show, Osei Bonsu, to describe the appointees as ‘perceived to be corrupt’ as according to him, he is convinced the man is corrupt.

According to him the President, instead of causing investigations into cases of alleged corruption in his government, instead chooses to clear the appointees.
This attitude of President Akufo-Addo, Sammy Gyamfi said, is contrary to that of former President John Mahama who was bold enough to cause the prosecution of some of his former appointees.

“Mahama is not like President Akufo-Addo who is now a clearing agent for corrupt officers, that is why he prosecuted a sitting Member of Parliament of his administration, Abuga Pele…,” he said.
Sammy Gyamfi therefore charged President Akufo-Addo to emulate the ‘good deeds’ of John Mahama so he can fight corruption.
