Eric Adjei, the Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), says President Nana Akufo-Addo is responsible for the entire mess Ghana has been plunged into in the Power Distribution Services (PDS) contract.
According to him, the Mahama-led administration created a transparent process with due diligence conducted ahead of the PDS deal which was distorted by the New Patriotic Party government.
He, thus, urged Ghanaians to hold President Akufo-Addo and his government responsible for the “PDS embarrassment and any financial loss it may have or has already caused the State.”
Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam Show, Mr Adjei said President Akufo-Addo must take responsibility for his own actions and role in the PDS deal.
“NDC did everything possible to secure a clean deal but Akufo-Addo decided to mess it up with his friends and cronies so he is responsible for the mess created. They wanted to cook the deal for themselves but because nobody wanted to be cheated, it became messy.
“The NPP must apologise to Ghanaians for refusing to heed to NDC’s advice on the PDS deal because right from the beginning, we made them aware the deal was fishy,” he said.
