Akufo-Addo knows change is around – Dr. Agumenu

-

Leadership and governance expert, Dr. Donald Agumenu says President Akufo-Addo as an experienced politician knows change is bound to happen in this year’s December general elections.

“He knows in his heart of hearts of the dynamics- I do not think he is oblivious of the fact that a wind of change is blowing across the country and this was the same atmosphere that favoured him (Akufo-Addo) in 2016. I won’t be surprised if President Mahama wins with a landslide victory, not below 53%,” Dr Agumenu has observed.

“What is important at this moment is for us to respect the sovereign will of the people and do what’s right.”

According to the leadership and governance expert, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) owe it as a duty to Ghanaians and the entire nation to ensure votes are protected and the apparent change will deliver results of economic prosperity.

Dr Agumenu said the packaging of key achievable policy measures by the NDC is very important in getting the trust and support of the electorates

He said, “John and Jane’s ticket comes with trusted experience and practice while the competition is still dealing with apprenticeship skills. Matching master to master would have been a different exercise.”

Dr. Agumenu pointed out that with the resources available to the current leadership if Bawumia’s leadership and technical skills were something to write home about, President Akufo-Addo would have outperformed President Nkrumah “if we accepted to go on the tangent of the NPP’s comparison matrix of politicking.”

He also condemned the assassination attempt on President Trump’s life, saying that any genuine pursuit towards building a sustainable society where humanity lives in peace and security should not be that toxic.

“Ghanaians must take a leaf from what is happening in the United States and across the world to defend the peace architecture of Ghana in the upcoming December polls,” the leadership and governance expert added.

He has therefore called on all voters to be vigilant and choose the obvious ticket led by President Mahama.
