A former Deputy Minister for Communications has launched a scathing attack on President Nana Akufo-Addo for claiming his predecessor, John Mahama is bankrupt of ideas.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the unfortunate comment by the President is borne out of hypocrisy and double standards.

President Akufo-Addo, while addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Aflao in the Volta region, Monday said the former President has neither a record to defend nor policies for the future.
He noted that, Mr Mahama, who is seeking to return to power, is yet to come out with policies to challenge the status quo.
President Akufo-Addo said Ghana, under his leadership is moving on to a new era of hope and progress.

In a riposte, the former Deputy Minister on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Tuesday said President Akufo-Addo is just being economical with the truth.
He said President Akufo-Addo will be floored in any debate with Mr Mahama on every sector of the economy.
“Akufo-Addo has no record in all sectors of the economy; in fact he will come to a debate on the energy sector with empty hands,” he said.

The Deputy Communications Minister said even after three years in power, the President cannot even boast of having a hen coup as an achievement.
He said given the performance of President Akufo-Addo in the three years, he is just a “mere caretaker.”
“President Akufo-Addo is the worst President Ghana has ever hard. Economic hardship and insecurity in the country are just unbearable,” he bemoaned.
