President Akufo-Addo has announced that the government’s Agenda 111 Hospital Projects will create approximately 67,000 jobs upon completion.
He emphasised the transformative nature of this initiative, highlighting its potential to significantly impact employment and healthcare in the country.
Each hospital under Agenda 111 will employ over 100 people, marking the project as a key driver of job creation and economic development.
President Akufo-Addo underscored the importance of this initiative in enhancing healthcare services across the nation.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Adansi North Hospital in Fomena, Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo reiterated the government’s commitment to completing all the hospitals under the Agenda 111 project.
He assured that these facilities would not only provide healthcare but also generate substantial employment opportunities.
“There’s an average number of 120 workers on each construction site, and when completed, an average of 559 persons will be employed in a district hospital, 1,343 in the regional hospital, and 947 in each psychiatric hospital. This means that 67, 635 people will be employed in the Agenda 111 Hospitals,” President Akufo-Addo assured.
The Agenda 111 hospital project, a flagship initiative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, aims to significantly enhance healthcare accessibility across the country.
President Akufo-Addo has recently inaugurated the 120-bed Fomena Hospital project in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, ending a prolonged delay in its completion.
The hospital’s inauguration marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure.
Initiated in 2014, the Fomena Hospital project faced multiple postponements due to funding issues. These delays led to concerns from residents of the Adansi Traditional Area, who consistently urged authorities to ensure the project’s completion.
At the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, July 17, President Akufo-Addo emphasised that the completion of the hospital is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing modern health facilities that meet current healthcare standards nationwide.
