Dutch Eredivisie club, Ajax has finalized a deal to bring Kamaldeen Sulemana on a season-long loan from Southampton.
The Ghana international is being brought in as a replacement for Steven Bergwijn, who is set to depart the Eredivisie giants for a move to Saudi Arabia.
According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Sulemana’s loan deal includes an option for Ajax to purchase the player, despite his current contract with Southampton running until 2027.

Ajax had initially shown interest in Sulemana back in 2021, but he opted to join Stade Rennes from FC Nordsjaelland for a fee of €17 million during the summer transfer window.
In January 2023, Sulemana made the move to Southampton in a €25 million transfer. While in France, he made 47 appearances for Rennes, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
At Southampton, he played 44 games, netting twice and assisting four times. However, he has yet to feature in the Premier League this season due to injury.
The speedy winger, who is currently recovering from an injury, has also been ruled out of Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Sulemana has made 19 appearances for Ghana’s senior national team but is still seeking his first goal.
