The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng addressing the media in Accra, announced that after a thorough four-year investigation, no proof was found of Mahama receiving bribes from Airbus.

However, he said the infamous ‘Government Official 1’ in court documents was Mr. Mahama but there is no evidence linking him to any bribery payments.

The European aviation giant admitted to paying millions in bribes across several countries, including Ghana, resulting in a £5 billion fine by a British court.

The investigation identified several key figures, including ‘Government Official 1’, but did not establish Mr. Mahama’s direct involvement in the bribery scandal.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sammy Gyamfi praised Mahama’s integrity, commending him for remaining original and incorruptible despite the scandal.

“Once again, H.E. John Dramani Mahama has been vindicated, as the Office of Special Prosecutor has exonerated him of any wrongdoing in the Airbus saga. The evil smear agenda by the corrupt Akufo-Addo/Bawumia “agyapadie” cabal, who are desperately looking for corruption classmates has failed.

“Seven and half years after leaving office, John Mahama remains squeaky clean with unblemished integrity. Certainly, John Mahama is the incorruptible leader Ghana needs to win the fight against corruption,” he shared.
