Distributors of Cocoa Nti Fertilizer, Enepa Ventures Limited, which is now called Agricultural Manufacturing Group (AMG) has denied recent allegations that it sold untested fertilizer to Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
In a statement, copied to Adom News, the company said its attention had been drawn to an online publication sourced to a Kumasi-based radio station that COCOBOD bought untested fertilizer covered by forged documents from Enepa.
The same story was reviewed on a number of radio and TV stations in their Newspaper Review sections.

But the company said “we wish to state categorically that the substance of the story is false and untrue and purely an orchestrated attempt to malign the company and its product, Cocoa Nti, and to bring the company’s high won reputation established over many years as a leading fertilizer and agro-chemical distributor into disrepute, public ridicule and contempt.”
Indeed, the company provided a certificate from the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) stating that CRIG has “tested and recommended to the Ghana Cocoa Board Cocoa Nti Fertilizer for use on cocoa.”
The company also denied allegations by the said story that Cocoa Nti fertilizer was manufactured in Morocco by a company called OCP Limited, saying that the product has been specially formulated for cocoa in Ghana.

General Manager of AMG, Henry Otoo-Mensah told Adom News Cocoa Nti Fertilizer was manufactured in Spain and measures are far advanced to start production in Ghana from February 2019.
“We have invested almost GHC50million to establish a plant in Tema to produce between 20,000 to 50,000 bags of fertilizer daily in Ghana and the plant will provide at least 200 permanent jobs locally,” he said.
Henry Otoo-Mensah also debunked claims that AMG sponsored and traveled with a Scientist from CRIG to Morocco, saying they have never been to Morocco and have never even travelled with any Scientist from CRIG to any country.

He, therefore, called on the general public and its customers, especially cocoa farmers to ignore the publication and treat it with all contempt.
The AMG General Manager also hinted that the matter has been handed over to company lawyers for advice, adding that they are likely to sue to prevent further peddling of falsehood.
