Aggrieved customers of the defunct investment firm, Gold Coast Fund Management, have taken to the streets to demonstrate and present a petition to President Akuffo-Addo for the immediate payment of their locked-up funds.

The demonstration began from the Obra Spot near Kwame Nkrumah Circle through to High Street in Accra to the Ministry of Finance where a copy of the petition will be presented to the ministry.

The demonstrators will finally proceed to the Flagstaff House where the main copy of the petition will be handed to the President.

The group also wants the government to freeze Dr Nduom’s accounts.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News’ AM show, the group’s public relations officer, Mr Nyame, said they expected the President to come out and speak to the issue by the end of the day.

“We, the customers expect that at the end of the day the President will come out to speak to the issue and what he has for us, he came out to speak about Menzgold but has not done so about our issue though we’ve already sent him series of petitions,” he said.

He said they expected the President to direct the Ministry of Finance to refund all clients of the defunct investment firm just as it has been done for the customers of the numerous defunct microfinance and savings and loans companies.

“We are requesting to be paid in full with its accrued interests,” he added.
