Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has strongly rebuffed Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s claims that National Security operatives stole personal belongings during a search at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.
Afenyo-Markin had alleged that security personnel took valuables, including jewelry and money, belonging to Addison’s wife during the operation.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed these allegations as baseless and described them as an “insult to the security service.”
“If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available, so he should resist maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, and myself for the work we are doing,” Dr. Ayine stated.
He assured the public that all investigative procedures were conducted ethically and in the nation’s best interest.
