Journalist and entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa has shared her thoughts on the shocking news of 2Face Idibia and Annie Macaulay Idibia’s reported divorce.
The couple’s split has sparked widespread reactions as they are known for their rollercoaster relationship and public declarations of love.
Afua expressed her disbelief, citing 2Face’s iconic love songs, which many believe were inspired by Annie.
“2Face’s divorce comes as a shock to me because he penned so many love songs, and I always thought they were dedicated to Annie. Looking at their love and friendship journey, it’s hard to imagine this happening,” she said.
She also suggested that the challenges within their marriage may not be one-sided, contrary to the hot takes on social media blaming 2Face for what they describe as manipulation and insensitivity.
“Men go through a lot in marriage too. Maybe 2Face isn’t the type to speak about everything Annie does to him, but she often reacts to what he does, and it’s sad to see. For all we know, both of them have issues we aren’t privy to, and when the full story comes out, it might not be clear who’s at fault.”
Interestingly, she noted that the couple’s history of breaking up and reconciling leaves room for hope.
However, she agreed that irreconcilable differences is a strong ground for a split.
She concluded by urging fans to approach the situation with understanding and avoid making harsh judgments.
