President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, as the new Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
This appointment was announced in a letter signed by the President’s Secretary, Ambassador Nana Asante Bediatuo.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin replaces Herbert Krapa, who is now the Minister of State at the Energy Ministry. Krapa, in turn, replaced Keli Gadzekpo, who resigned on March 26.
Mr Krapa had replaced Keli Gadzekpo, who resigned from the position on March 26.
“The President of the Republic has nominated Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin (MP), Member of Parliament for Effutu in the Central Region, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited.”
“Kindly take the necessary steps to give effect to the President’s nomination in accordance with the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and the Regulations of the Company,” the letter said.
