The Majority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin, has commissioned two ICT Centers, two libraries for Unipra Basic School and Alata Kokodo community, and other facilities to boost ICT in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region.
Mr. Afenyo Markin also inaugurated a three-unit classroom block for the pupils of Atekyedo basic school, a 20-seater W/C toilet facility for Effutu Presby JHS, as well as a 20-seater for W/C for Winneba M/A basic school.
Additionally, the Effutu MP donated 20 laptops to teachers at Unipra Basic School and Alata Kokodo, who did not benefited from the One Teacher One Laptop initiative he launched last year.
All the facilities were named in honour of hard-working civil servants who have served the Effutu Municipality upon their retirement.
In an interview with Adom FM, Mr. Afenyo Markin appealed to teachers in Effutu to shape the younger generation as they are the future leaders.
He also urged parents to cooperate with teachers regarding their children’s homework to boost education in Effutu.
The lawmaker emphasized his commitment to developing the Effutu Constituency and warned that road contractors who fail to complete their projects, particularly the Winneba to Atekyedo road, will face legal action.
