Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah, has revealed that he already knows 98% of the players who will make it to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Selection of players for the AFCON will obviously be the major subject of attention as the competition draws closer.
The coach is yet to come out with a provisional squad before even naming the final quad, but he says he already knows those who will be called.
According to the former Asante Kotoko player, he is monitoring a few other players who are still recovering from injuries.
“I should say I know about 98% of the players, but along the line, we keep monitoring the players because along the line, there might be injuries and sicknesses.
“All that we praying for is to make sure our players are all fully fit with no injuries; because as I speak, Harrison has a broken jaw including some few other players I know they have problems with small small injuries,” he added.
The coach has handed a lot of call-ups to local players as part of his agenda of building a new team for the future which he believes has enabled him to get his team ready for the tournament.
