Head coach of Aduana Stars, Yussif Abubakar has confirmed he was attacked by two football fans on his way to the mosque yesterday.
He said the fans’ reason was his club’s inability to win against Raja Casablanca.
Aduana stars managed a point in their second CAF Confederations Cup game against the North African side on Wednesday after a 3-3 drawn game in Dormaa and fans are blaming the manager for a poor show.
“Two guys attacked me on my way to the mosque, yesterday, saying I made them lose cash from a bet they had placed on the game with Raja Casablanca but an elderly man intervened”, Abubakar revealed.
The coach who was speaking on Asempa FM, said he has reported the issue to the club’s management for investigations to be conducted into the matter.
He believes he has a running contract with the club and no one can push him out.
“I have a contract with Aduana Stars and no one can ask me to leave. For now, I am safe and expect management to take steps”.
Aduana stars have managed a point from two Confederations Cup games after losing 1-0 to Asec Mimosas and drawing with Raja Casablanca.
