Latest reports from leading mobile surveying platform in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, GeoPoll, on television viewership in Ghana has revealed that Multimedia’s Adom TV is now the most watched TV.
Per the feat, Adom TV has effectively ‘displaced’ UTV who had occupied the first position in 2016.
The rankings show that Adom TV had an average viewership of 662,000 in 2017, 118,000 and 143,000 more than second and third-placed TV3 and UTV respectively.
TV3 had 544,000 average viewers while UTV recorded 519,000 average viewers with Joy Prime sitting in fourth place with 364,000 average viewers.
“Adom TV was the dominant station throughout 2017, holding the lead in viewer share each quarter.

In terms of viewer share, Adom TV had a viewer share of 12.7% while TV3 and UTV had viewer shares of 12.4% and UTV 11.3% respectively, according to the report.
The figures indicate that in 2017, Adom TV saw a 3.8% increase in viwer share while that of UTV saw a decline of 8.3%. TV3 on the other hand, grew its share by 3%.
Meanwhile, Channel Manager of Adom TV, Abena Yiadom, in an interview with adomonline.com says the outlook for 2018 is even brighter, promising that there will be even more diverse programmes to choose.

She said the Channel is in consultation with its audience so they can factor their expectations into upcoming programmes.
“Per our audiences’ suggestions, we shall either add or subtract to or from our existing programmes”, she said.
Meanwhile, Daily Graphic was adjudged 2017 most popular daily newspaper in Ghana with 1.5 million readers per day.

The state-owned newspaper had twice as many readers as its closest competitor, Daily Guide, which has a daily readership of 726,000 with another state-owned newspaper, the Ghanaian Times following with a daily readership of 532,000.
Geopoll has been measuring media audience ratings through mobile phone surveys in Ghana since 2014 using daily data collected through its Media Measurement Service across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
