Adom News gets results as Bombari Primary gets six-unit classroom block

Following Adom News’ report that threw the spotlight on the plight of pupils of Bombari D/A Primary School in the Kpandai District of the Northern region in March 2021, help has finally come.
Teaching and learning were being carried out in a dilapidated hut which was a death trap to occupants and affected academic work.
The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, his Excellency Mochizuki Hisanobu with funding from Japan has constructed a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities.
At a brief ceremony on Thursday, the ultra-modern facility was handed over to the residents who were full of gratitude.
They expressed appreciation to Adom News for sharing their challenges with the rest of the world and bring them a solution.

 The Kpandai District Chief Executive (DCE) Attah Kofi Emmanuel Tatabilata, also expressed his profound gratitude to the Multimedia Group Limited for being a voice for the voiceless and their good work which is yielding positive results.

He seized the opportunity to call on the beneficiaries to adopt a cultural maintenance attitude to help keep the building and the ancillary long for it intended purpose.

Mr Tatabilata also appealed to the Japanese national to consider other communities in the Kpandai district such Kabonwure, Katiajeria, with such educational infrastructures and potable drinking water.

In a speech read on behalf of the Japanese Ambassador, Chief Alhaji Wondey who is the Coordinating Director of Kpandai District stated that he has taken notices of all the other concerns raised and will address them accordingly.

The school also as at that time of Adom News’ report lacked furniture, teaching, and learning materials.

It is the only educational infrastructure that serves the community with a population close to 600 who are predominantly farmers with most of the women into gari production.

The school which starts from kindergarten to Basic six has a population of 278.

The school was started by a native teacher, late David Kwasi Anabeto in the year 2000 with the support of the community members.

Upon his death in 2003, one Mr. Abokyi, also of blessed memory, took over and it was absorbed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in 2014.

The Odikro of Bombari, Nana Akwasi Bentomang in an interview had lamented that pupils stay out of school due to the nature of the classrooms.

Nana Bentomang said they are sometimes chased out by snakes and other reptiles.

The headteacher, Gabriel Donkor added that since he assumed office, the school has to close whenever its cloudy and they completely stay out of school during the rainy season.

Aside from this, he noted the teachers do not have tables and chairs to sit on to mark exercise.

The Assemblyman for the Nanjuro Electoral Area, Michael Lamorja, disclosed that he has taken steps to ensure the community gets a befitting classroom block but several letters written to the Kpandai District Assembly has not received any positive feedback.
