The Asempa FM Kwahu Easter Games kicked off in grand style at the Roman School Park in Kwahu Tafo, with the Kontihene of Kwahu Tafo and his entourage adding a royal presence to the community-driven tournament.
This year’s tournament will feature over 10 intense matches between various towns, all battling for bragging rights and the ultimate trophy.
The games are already drawing massive crowds, energizing the Kwahu Easter festivities with healthy rivalry and community spirit.
Addressing the gathering, the Kontihene of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Okyere Gyenyah commended the Adom brands for spearheading such a unifying initiative, describing it as a strong force for community development and youth engagement.
“These games are more than just football; they are a symbol of unity, peace, and positive energy. I urge the youth to uphold peace throughout and beyond the competition, and to display true sportsmanship,” he said.
In one of the opening matches, Kwahu Tafo faced off against Nteso in a tightly contested game that ended 0–0 after full time.
Kwahu Tafo, however, triumphed in the penalty shootout, much to the delight of their leaders and home crowd, who had gathered to cheer them on.
