Pupils in Adeemra, a farming community in the Kintampo South district, are risking their safety by attending classes in dilapidated structures, which is affecting teaching and learning.
Concerned parents are calling for immediate intervention to ensure the safety of their wards.
At Adeemra DA Basic School, the conditions of the buildings have reached a critical point, posing a danger to the students and undermining effective teaching.
The parents are appealing to the authorities to address these issues urgently.
Fortunately, a contractor has been dispatched to the site to construct a new 6-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities, including a 12-seater toilet and mechanized boreholes.
During a brief ceremony to introduce the contractor to community leaders, Opoku Nyame, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kintampo South, assured the community that they would receive their fair share of government projects.
The project is funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), and the contractor has assured the community of a timely and quality delivery.
The parents and community members are hopeful that the new facilities will significantly improve the learning environment for the pupils, ensure their safety and enhancing their educational experience.
