Residents of Achimota Christian Village in the Okaikwei North constituency of the Greater Accra region are very upset with politicians for failing to fulfill promises to fix their death-trap bridges.
According to them, the death-trap bridges have been a campaign message for Members of Parliament and Assembly members who for many years convince the people through juicy promises that if voted into power they would fix the broken bridges, but never do so after being voted into power.
Residents say the poor state of the bridges have claimed many lives.
Leader of Concerned Youth of the area told Adom News’ Kodwo Mensah Aboroampa, who visited the area, that the youth will demonstrate in two weeks if the bridges are not fixed.
Schoolchildren who use the bridges said they are always scared when crossing the bridges since there is nothing to support them in case they slip.
