Abu Jinapor files re-election bid, calls for united front for 2024 election

-

The Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor has filed his nomination forms seeking re-election in the 2024 general election.

He will be representing the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its parliamentary candidate for the Damongo constituency in the Savannah Region.

The Lands Minister in an address shortly after the presentation of his nomination forms at the Electoral Commission’s office in Damongo, indicated that a united front in the rank and file of the party will surely propel the party to victory come December.

He said the last three months before the election will witness a road transformation in the Constituency with the coming of the District Roads Improvement Project (DRIP) equipment.

He stated that the party has made significant progress in areas such as agriculture, job creation, and infrastructure.

He expressed confidence that the people of the Damongo constituency are fully prepared to support his re-election and contribute to the victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president of Ghana.

Samuel Abu Jinapor, for the second time running, went unopposed as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency.

The Damongo constituency is one of the seven constituencies in the Savannah Region, which has traditionally been held by the opposition National Democratic Congress since 1993.

Mr Jinapor in 2020 contested for the first time against the then-incumbent MP Adam Mutawakilu, who had been the MP since 2013 and will be contesting against him again in the December polls.
