Former Hearts of Oak board member, Frank Nelson believes head coach Aboubakar Ouattara’s ability to restore the club to its former glory, provided he receives the necessary support.
The Ivorian tactician, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal midway through last season, successfully guided the team to avoid relegation.
Despite a shaky start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign, Ouattara has propelled Hearts of Oak to 6th place in the standings with 19 points from 12 games. Impressively, the team remains unbeaten in their last six matches.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, Nelson praised Ouattara’s wealth of coaching experience and expressed optimism about his potential to revive the fortunes of the Phobian Club.
“Aboubakar Ouattara has a lot of experience in terms of coaching. I have no doubts that he has what it takes to lead Hearts to glory days,” he said.
Acknowledging the challenges of managing a club of Hearts of Oak’s stature, Nelson stressed the importance of patience and support in ensuring the coach’s success.
“What we need is patience. If we give him the support, he can deliver for Hearts of Oak,” he added.
The Phobians will look to maintain their strong away form as they gear up for a crucial Matchday 13 clash against fierce rivals Asante Kotoko.
The game is set to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
