The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has strongly rebutted a recent statement by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, characterizing it as a desperate attempt to dismiss compelling evidence of state capture during the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 16, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources denied allegations made by Ablakwa that the current government is unfairly favouring its allies in the sale of state lands.
The Ministry categorically dismissed these claims as unfounded and urged the Ghanaian public to disregard them.
The Ministry clarified that under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, no state lands have been sold. It pointed out that any controversies surrounding government lands arose during the previous administration of John Mahama, during which Mr. Ablakwa served.
In response, Ablakwa took to Facebook on Wednesday, July 17, reiterating his stance.
He criticized the Minister’s statement for selectively ignoring instances of apparent state capture that he has consistently raised both within and outside Parliament.
Ablakwa accused the Minister of being disingenuous in his response despite what he described as overwhelming and incontrovertible evidence.
He proceeded to chronologically detail each allegation he has previously raised.
