Oheneba Kasempa Enterprise, producers of Original Abensuo drink has as part of its corporate social responsibility rehabilitated some roads in Amrahia and its environs in the Adentan Municipality of Greater Accra Region.
The rehabilitation is to help relieve the people of the area of perennial flooding. Some rivers and streams particularly within the Zongo community.
Efforts have also been made to rehabilitate some roads and reconstruct the bridge within the affected areas which were rendered unmortorable as a result of devastating flooding each time there is a heavy down pour.
The two weeks project which cost the company several amount of cedis is expected to give relief to the affected communities and some motorists who could not ply the road as a result of the bad nature coupled with flooding.
Interacting with the media during the exercise, the CEO of Oheneba Kasempa Enterprise, Mr Alex Tenkorang said he was touched by the plight of the people and could not sit unconcerned while lives and property perished during the annual ritual of flooding and so he has taken it upon himself to give some remedy to the problems if not entirely.
Mr. Tenkorang took the opportunity to educate the people to desist from throwing refuse into water bodies and drainage since this is a major factor leading to flooding in most communities.
The people have expressed their gratitude to the company and the CEO for the steps taken to rescue them from the phenomenon and urged government particularly the Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders to engage in periodic dredging and if possible construct storm drains in the area in order to forestall any future tragic occurrences
