Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has announced that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is sidelined with a groin injury.
The winger did not feature in the Foxes’ Carabao Cup Fourth Round match against Manchester United, where they suffered a 5-2 defeat.
In a press conference on Thursday, Cooper provided an update on Issahaku’s condition.
“We’ve had a really good morning’s work,” he said. “Through the frustration and annoyance of how the game went, it’s been turned into a positive motivation for the next game, and that’s where we’re at.
“You pick a team that you think is the best fit to deliver a plan to win a game. That doesn’t necessarily mean the players who played last night won’t play again at the weekend or vice versa. We’ve picked up a couple of knocks this week.
“Abdul was not available for the game last night due to a groin issue. We had a few enforced changes last night, but just because we went one way last night, it doesn’t mean we won’t go a certain way at the weekend,” he added.
Issahaku has featured in nine Premier League matches this season, contributing two assists.
Currently, Leicester City sits in 15th place in the league table with nine points from nine games.
However, Cooper’s side is determined to climb higher in the coming weeks as they aim to establish themselves in the top flight.
