Ghana winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku marked his Premier League debut with an assist in Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.

The 20-year-old was handed a starting role by manager Steve Cooper for the season opener.

Leicester fell behind to a Pedro Porro goal, but Issahaku responded by delivering a perfect cross into the box, which Jamie Vardy headed in to equalize in the 58th minute.

Vardy later had a chance to put Leicester ahead, but his shot was well saved by Tottenham’s goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Wilfred Ndidi also came close to scoring, with his effort narrowly hitting the side netting.

Tottenham dominated the first half, creating several chances, but were unable to capitalize, resulting in both teams sharing the points.

Leicester will next face Fulham at Craven Cottage in their upcoming Premier League fixture.

Issahaku joined Leicester City after the club’s relegation to the Championship, initially on loan from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

His impressive performance in the lower tier, where he scored seven goals and provided 13 assists, earned him a permanent move to The Foxes.
