Legal practitioner, Yaw Anokye Frimpong has garnered overwhelming votes in Convention People’s Party (CPP) presidential primary in the Ashanti region.
423 delegates gathered at the GNAT Hall in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi for the event.
He polled 116 votes against his only contender, former Chairperson, Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumakuma who obtained 87 votes.
A total of 206 delegates cast their votes with three rejected ballots.
With only three months to the general elections, many party members are hopeful that selecting the right candidate will make a significant impact.
