Klottey Korley New Patriotic Party (NPP), parliamentary hopeful, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has fought off claims any candidate elected will have a tough time campaigning for the 2024 election.
According to him, the NPP’s victory is non-negotiable as there are blue prints and a track record which will speak for itself.
Member of Parliament (MP), Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, had said it is important that the NPP candidate presents a well-defined campaign message to the electorates if they want to win the seat.
In a interview on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen, Dr. Zenator said no NPP candidate will pose a threat to her electoral fortunes because of the poor performance of the Akufo-Addo led administration.
When show host, OB specifically asked about Nii Noi popularly known as Osu darling boy, Zanetor stressed his candidature doesn’t send any shiver down her spine.
“If you feel you are popular at a spot, fair enough but what about the others. I will be looking forward to what he will be campaigning on. I won’t mention names but some people think in this last minute, they can sway people with money but it is a high level of cruelty. Where were they all these years of their struggle,” she said.
Months later, Nii Noi on the same show has described it as a panic statement.
“My work is on the ground and the people can attest to that. Why should she worry if she believes she has done the work? At the end of the day, the people will decide but I haven’t seen anything she has done,” he said.
Nii Noi emphasised he will go into the election and emerge victorious, regardless of the circumstances.
“I don’t care whether someone brings money or not I will go for the election and win because it is about actions and not words so I will plead with delegates to look at my good works in reviving the constituency to be a winning one for the NPP and vote for me,” he appealed.
