Vice Chairperson of Parliamentary Select Committee on Gender, Abena Duruwaa Mensah has admonished men to refrain from any action which seeks to retaliate a slap or physical assault by women.
According to her, women are weaker vessels but quick tempered and for that matter, under no circumstance should a man beat a woman as a way of retaliating a wrong doing.

She said it was a nice way of solving the problem peacefully either through DOVVSU or other means.

She made the assertion in an interview with Adom News’ Alfred Amoh, at a women’s empowerment program held in Assin Fosu as part of the International Women’s Day celebration.
Mrs. Abena Duruwaa Mensah also urged women to give maximum respect to their husbands to maintain a peaceful home.

International Women’s Day is a dedicated to women by the UN as the day on which the whole world must reflect on and acknowledge not only the enormous and incalculable contributions of women to the achievement of better livelihoods for humanity but also to ponder about the travails and tribulations of women.
