Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, will no longer speak to the media in an official capacity on any matter until a disciplinary case against him is resolved, the party’s acting General Secretary, John Boadu has said.
According to Mr. Boadu, the decision was taken by the party’s National Steering Committee at its meeting on Wednesday, following a leaked audio tape of Nana Obiri Boahen in which he made some serious allegations against the NPP.

“For now, Nana Obiri Boahen will not speak for the party but can speak for himself. NEC [National Executive Committee] has to conduct investigations into the tape to decide. If he is found guilty, he will then face the Disciplinary Committee of the party for the appropriate punishment”, he said on Accra-based radio, Okay FM.
“But as I’m speaking now, I cannot tell you what his punishment will be when he meets with the Disciplinary Committee of the party”, he added.
