The Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Orgainser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as ‘Abronye DC’ has warned former Sports Minister, Ni Lante Vanderpuiye to get ready for him as he is set to storm his house and tow away government vehicles in his possession.
The NPP fire brand youth organiser who has been assisting the government’s taskforce to retrieve state vehicles in possession of former government officials said the Odododiodio MP has in his possession four state vehicles.
Government functionaries on Tuesday afternoon went to the Aplaku residence near Weija of former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuije in search of some of the missing state vehicles
Led by Abronye DC, they were accompanied by security officials from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and National Security, Nii Vanderpuije said.
Mr Vanderpuije’s wife, who was at home at the time, was said to have opposed the team from entering on grounds that they had no search warrant.
This caused the search team to split as some of them went away in an attempt to secure a warrant while others waited within the precincts of Mr Vanderpuije’s home.
Mr Vanderpuije is currently out of the country.
He told Accra based radio station, Class FM that: “…the people who say they are from BNI and National Security and confiscated car committee were in my house, they said they were coming to pick government vehicles from my house.”
“I am not in Ghana so they are harassing my wife and children. For now they have not have access to my house, my wife said she will not open for them to enter because they have no warrant. My children are from school coming to the house but she can’t open the gates for the children to enter because if she opens the gate the people will enter the house.”
The MP has also promised to go to court over the issues as according to him, he bought the state vehicles in his possession before leaving office.
Reacting to this, Abronye DC sworn that he would again storm the Aplaku residence of the former Minister with a bulldozer and tow away the state vehicles in the MP’s possession even if he keeps the vehicle under his bed.
“Once he has accepted that state vehicles are in his possession, I will storm his house will bulldozer and tow them away…when we get there and he is having sex with his wife on his bed and the vehicle is under his bed, we would not be concerned with the sex act, we would only tow away the vehicle,” he threatened.
He said he is doing so because the former Minister has condemned the late Jake Obetsebi Lamptey for purchasing government bungalow and hence he did not see the sense in the same person buying and keeping government assets.
“I thought Nii Lante Vanderpuiye was the one who said it is unethical to buy government assets, the former Chief of Staff said same and President Mahama also ordered same…,” he said.
Abronye DC further called on the MP to consider suing him ‘at ICC in the Hague’ over the vehicles.
