The Ministry of Youth and Sports has handed over a 3 bedroom storey apartment to the head coach of the Black Stars, Kwasi Appiah.
The gesture is in honor of a promise made by the sports ministry to provide a permanent official residence for coaches of the senior national team.
The facility which was acquired in collaboration with the ministry of Works and Housing at a cost of GHÈ» 300,000 is located at the Airport Residential Area in Accra.
Officials of the Ghana Football Association, the Sports Ministry, the National Sports Authority and the media witnessed the occasion as Kwasi Appiah received the keys from the Sports Minister.
According to the sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah, securing the official residence for the Black Stars coach therefore saves the state $96,000 a year that was previously spent on accommodation.
Black Stars coaches will no longer stay in hotels following this and Coach Kwasi Appiah will be the first occupant of the facility.
