New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in Ati-Morkwa constituency are sharply divided over the nomination of Mr. Robert Agyeaman-Nyantakyi by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the District Chief Executive for the constituency.
A section of the youth is against Mr. Robert Agyemang – Nyantakyi’s nomination as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Ati- Morkwa District.
A group calling itself “foot soldiers” of the party claimed they cannot work with a lazy person as their DCE.
They demonstrated against President Akufo- Addo for appointing Mr. Robert Agyemang as their new DCE.
According to them, Mr. Robert Agyemang is a lazy person because he wasn’t part of 2016 campaign season.
They expressed disappointment in President Nana Akufo-Addo for appointing Mr. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi.
The angry demonstrators burnt car tires and party properties at the constituency office. It took the intervention of the police to end the total destruction of the party properties at the office.
President of the group, Kwamena Alhassan said they cannot work with the President’s nominee thus should be withdrawn.
But supporters of Mr. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi’s seized the opportunity to express their sincerest gratitude to the President for nominating him as the DCE for Twifo Ati Morkwa district.
According to them, Mr. Nyantakyi comes to office with a vast experience as an astute teacher having taught for many years.
He is a firm believer in the centre right ideals of our party and has contributed immensely to the forward march of the NPP.
They congratulated Mr. Nyantakyi for emerging as the nominee of the President. They have confidence in his ability to deliver and so we expect him to roll up his sleeves and hit the ground running after his confirmation.
The group said Mr. Nyantakyi that he comes to office riding on the crest of a united and a peaceful party and district and they expect him to take these positive attributes to several notches higher.
They called on the honorable Assembly Members of the Twifo Ati Mokwa district to vote en bloc to endorse the nominee of His Excellency The President.
