Director of State Protocol must go back to school – Expert

-

An international diplomacy expert is urging government to send the Director of State Protocol, Hassan Ahmed, back to school.
According to Adam Bonaa, the countless gaffe of the Chief Protocol Officer are enough attestation that he needs further studies.

The Director of State Protocol is being mocked on social media over what many believe was a snub by the Governor of U.S State of Nevada at the National Governors Association (NGA) Winter Meeting recently.

A video circulating on social media seems to show the US Governor, Brian Sandoval, refusing to shake Mr. Ahmed’s hand when he offered it for a handshake.
The Governor instead walked up to President Akufo-Addo to shake his hand. Many have blamed the chief Protocol officer for the international embarrassment.

In support, Mr. Adam Bonaa on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said Hassan Ahmed breached protocol by offering to shake the Governor first.
“This is very unfortunate because the Director of State Protocol should have known better”, he stated.
Mr. Bonaa who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Security Warehouse, bemoaned how, on countless occasions, Mr. Ahmed wants to overshadow the President.

He decried how such a powerful speech delivered by President Akufo-Addo at the summit has been overshadowed by such needless gaffe.

“The Protocol officer should not have been on the podium with the president; he always does that and in diplomacy, it is very wrong”, he stressed.
Mr. Bonaa advised the Director of State Protocol to, as a matter of urgency, refresh his notes to avoid such international faux pas.
