Former Hassacas ladies solid defender Janet Egyir has been adjudged the Best Player of the maiden WAFU Zone B Women championship in Ivory Coast
The defender scored three goals including the winning goal that saw Ghana lift the trophy and emerged woman of the match on two occasions throughout the tournament.
The versatile center back who was deployed in right back position under interim head coach Mercy Tagoe-Qarcoo was influential in guiding the Black Queen to win the Cup.
Ghana is now the first country to win the maiden edition of the WAFU Women championship with Janet Egyir replicating the performance of Isaac Twum who won the Best Player of the tournament in the men’s edition last September.
