Black Queens beat Nigeria’s Super Falcons 5-4 on penalties to reach the final of the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s Nations Cup in Ivory Coast.
The second semifinal game ended 1-1 after regulation time with Nigeria’s Alice Ogebe opening the scores as early as the 8th minute before the Queens drew level through Faustina Ampah to send the game to penalties.
During the shootouts, goalkeeper Patricia Mantey saved two spot-kicks and Alice Kusi scored the winning goal.
Ghana will face hosts Ivory Coast in the final on Saturday, February 24 in a repeat of the tournament opener where Ghana lost 1-0.
