The poster markets him as having a “proven track record in championing the rights and welfare of all party executives and members”.
A year to the 2016 general elections, the National Executive Committee of the NPP suspended Mr Crabbe indefinitely alongside then General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong as well as then Chairman, Paul Afoko.

The three were suspended for, among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of the then opposition party’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.
Their suspension has not yet been reversed.
That notwithstanding, Mr Crabbe has entered the race to give Acting Chairman Freddy Blay some competition.

Meanwhile, the National Chairmanship race has been predicted to be a straight battle between current Acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay, and a former National First Vice Chairman of the Party, Mr. Stephen Ntim.
Pollster Ben Ephson in November last year said no matter how both aspirants pitch their strategies, what could dictate the outcome is how best the two leading hopefuls strive to get their followers into the polling station, constituency, and regional positions.
Mr Blay is due to officially launch his campaign for the position in the coming weeks.
