Public Relations Officer for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, says the board members of the club together with their supporters will soon announce a venue for their upcoming Ghana Premier League games.
The Accra Sports Stadium was shut down after the Ministry of Youth and Sports decided to repair cracks which were highly obvious and had begun to cause fear of a major disaster.
Accra Hearts of Oak, who have been using the venue as their home grounds for so many years, will now have to relocate to a different venue.
Speaking on Asempa Sports, the Phobia spokesman said, ‘Once we have heard the information, the board will meet and take a decision very soon as to the next venue where we can be playing our matches”.
“Management will also meet and infer from the supporters because they will be going to the stadium to watch the matches, therefore we need to find a location which will be comfortable for them”.
“The nature of the pitch and financial aspect will all be taken into consideration”, he added.
The e Accra Sports Stadium will need a major facelift as it has not seen any renovation works ever since it was renovated to host the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
