A member of the Minority in Parliament has descended heavily on Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for claiming they are ‘ignorant’ on the controversial $2.25 billion bond sold to investment fund Franklyn Templeton at 19%.
According to Member of Parliament for Bolga Central, Isaac Adongo, the vice president over the years has shown he is fit for comedy.
“We are not ready to accept a vice president who is intolerant; who will not accept divergent views and will not accept to answer critical questions but will insult the people who have a major stake in the governance of this country. ” he fumed.
Dr. Bawumia has courted the anger of the Minority in Parliament in his response to their queries of the $2.25 billion bond sold to investment fund Franklyn Templeton at 19%.
He challenged the minority to read more and get enlightened on the issues.
But Hon. Adongo on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday described the comment by Dr. Bawumia as “unpresidential”.
He said the Minority has a responsibility to keep government on its toes and accountable to the people thus finds it very surprising the comment of the astute economist.
“I Isaac Adongo, I don’t think Bawumia can ever call me ignorant because of the lies he is telling the people of Ghana and the concert party he has been doing” the Bolga Central MP stated.
Hon. Isaac Adongo maintained that until Dr. Bawumia renders an unqualified apology for calling the Minority ignorant, “I will tell him worse things”.
