The Zongo Chief of Ashalaja in the Greater Accra Region, Saliki Yusif Tahiru has promised to donate his house to President Akufo Addo to start the one district, one factory project if given permission by the landlords.
His appeal, he told Adom News is borne out of his desire to end unemployment especially in the Zongo community.
“We have heard his promises and he’s now the president. I want him to start the project from Ashalaja. If he comes to commence I promise him that land won’t be a problem at all. Even if it’s my house I will vacate and give it to them to do the work to help Ghana and Ashalaja as a whole…” he said.
Saliki Tahiru also called on the Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Abubakar Boniface to concentrate on making education very attractive in the Zongos.
“I will urge the minister to look down and focus on the education side. We are suffering and there is now work here. The youth here are suffering. We can make pineapple factories. The land guards worry us so they should help us…” he cried.
