Acting General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has warned the public not to give money to unknown people in his name.
According to him, he does not have the power to appoint District and Municipal Chief Executives (MMDCEs) thus those paying monies to faceless people in his name will be disappointed.
“Sometimes when you’re too greedy you will be duped. If someone calls you on the phone and introduces himself as John Boadu for money, you should investigate the cause. I think the public must be careful to these things…”
Tension has been brewing among members of the governing NPP over the choice of candidates for MMDCEs positions nationwide—Tema East Branch of the party is a typical case.
But John Boadu reacting to the issue said President Akufo-Addo and the NPP party will resist any attempt to stampede them to do the bidden of people.
“At this ‘MMDCE’ time, people are desperate for positions. I will never go to anyone to ask them to give me money ever; this is because if we don’t follow the truth, others will think because I wasn’t given money that’s why I have declined them in anyway. If you can make police arrest them I don’t have a problem…” he said on Neat FM Wednesday.
