GHALCA G8: Medeama scores Hearts of Oak to advance to the semifinals

-

Central forwards Kwame Boateng and Agyenim Boateng’s first half goals helped Medeama SC to beat Hearts of Oak as the Mauves book their place in the semi-finals stage of the ongoing GHALCA G-8 tournament in Cape Coast.
The Tarkwa-based side defeated Ebusua Dwarfs 6-5 in the opening fixture of the tournament, started the game brightly and dictated the pace of the entire duration and created two quick opportunities resulting in their winning goals.
The Phobians without their influential duo, Winful Cobbina and Samudeen Ibrahim raised their performance level but were stopped by former Great Olympics striker Kwame Boateng who secured his side’s first goal on the 16th minute.
The Yellow and Mauves quickly extended their advantage in the 23rd minute through Agyenim Boateng after he was put through by his striking partner Kwame Boateng.
The Phobians came back strongly into the game in the second half with the introduction of Patrick Razak but their relentless efforts did not yield any result as Medeama picked the maximum points.
Hearts can still qualify to the semifinal if they record positive result against Ebusua Dwarfs in their last game on Sunday.
